THE AMAZON RAINFOREST, ECUADOR

We arrived in Quito, in Ecuador and from there we drove a 6 hours bus trip in order to come to Tena, which is a city that lies at the edge of the jungle. From that spot we were picked up in a truck to get to our homestay family, who we were supposed to stay with for a week. Our time in the jungle was naturally super special and it was funny so see such nature and really feel the humidity. We got delicious food, which the family cooked for us and besides from that then they showed us around in the area and told us about plants and what they use them for. Also, we saw waterfalls, visited a school out there and an animal rescue centre. We got to see and bathe in a lagoon as well and then we actually got to make our own chocolate from scratch - which of course isn't like the chocolate we know at home, as it's not processed in the same way at all, however it was fun tasting. All in all it was super interesting visiting the jungle, though we were a little disappointed for not seeing as many wild animals as we expected. I suppose that the majority of wild animals are to find deeper in the jungle, where human beings don't come.
