THE INCA TRAIL

Yeah wow.

The group me and my friend were a part of didn't know what to expect from the inca trail as people said that it was extremely hard and that you possibly would suffer from altitude sickness. But we all kept our heads high and stayed optimistic. It was a 4 days trek to actually get to the famous machu picchu and that involved 45 km. in total where the highest point we reached was 4215 m. above sea level. Yeah wow. And man, I can tell you that it was god damn exhausting reaching the highest point as the stairs got more and more up hill from step to step. Moreover, the air got thinner and it was so hard breathing. However, we all reached the point. During the trail we hiked through the most beautiful landscape as you can see, through ancient inca ruins, the cloud forest and so much more. Even though it was a struggle finishing the trail, we did it and it's one of the most incredible things I've ever done in my entire life. It sounds ridiculous but you certainly felt in one with nature and it took your breath away (literally) thinking of how the ancient inca people build this road and the ruins of course at that matter of time.
