As I went to Arken to view Gerda Wegeners exhibition I found out that there was another exhibition as well, namely one with Niki de Saint Phalle. She's a woman, who was born in Paris by an American  mother and a French, noble father but as a matter of fact she actually grew up in USA. She was married at the age of 18 and got to children but she got tired of being a house wife and she broke up with that through an artistic rebellion. Additionally, she was later on told by her own father that he sexually abused her when she was a kid, which she has superseded. Because of that and so many other things, Niki was filled with anger and she had a certain urge to break with the world that she considered as a man'd world. I think that it's pretty clear to see her temper throughout her work, but I actually quite like the way she expresses her feelings. She has actually been shooting at many of her pieces with a rifle, which naturally gives her pieces a certain expression. I'm crazy about Niki.
