After California we spent a few days in La paz in Bolivia before we went to Salar de Uyuni after a 10 hours bus drive. Salar de Uyuni is a salt desert, which we were going to spent three days in. What is really special about the desert is that the salt kinda takes shape as pentagons because of the oxygen, which is quite fun to see. However, we were driving around in the desert in a jeep when going from place to place to discover all the different things. Besides from the salt desert itself there are so many other variations of nature there as e.g. grassland, lagoons, hot springs, geysers, mountains, volcanoes, cactuses and lava rocks here and there, which all were super beautiful. In the middle of the desert there was this so called "island" that was named Fisher's Island and at this spot thousands of enormous cactuses were growing. It was kinda surreal, yet unique standing right beside a five metre high cactus and in general being on an island filled with them. Besides from that then we got to see a lot of lamas (they're everywhere in both Bolivia and Peru) and flamingos. It was so crazy being there.
